Description of Change: A new idler for the trencher is now used. There was a design change to the sealing method of the idler. This new idler provided better reliability. The interval between adding grease is extended to every 50 hours.
Adaptable To: This change is effective with the following trenchers: SLW541-UP, KSK260-UP and JAJ1188-UP.
This change is adaptable to first production of the trenchers that are listed.
Table 1 lists the parts that have changed.

(A) Apply 4C-9506 Retaining Compound to the threads. Tighten the nut to 200 N·m (148 lb ft).
(B) Apply 4C-9506 Retaining Compound evenly around the joint of the pin. Apply retaining compound to the flange of the pin.
(C) The lip of the seal faces outward. The part number on the seal faces the bearing and the idler. Rotate the idler during the application of grease.
