Window Wiper and Wiper Motor (Front) - Remove and Install

Usage:

725C2 2L6

Removal Procedure

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

  1. Raise the hood.

  2. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

  3. Remove the cable strap and disconnect harness assembly (1).

  4. Disconnect hose (2). Remove nut (3). Remove wiper arm (4).

  5. Support wiper motor (9). Remove bolts (5). Remove cap (6), nut (7) and washers (8). Remove wiper motor (9).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Do not operate the wiper motor before the wiper arm assembly is installed.

A new wiper motor is preset in the parked position. If the wiper motor is operated before installation of the wiper arm assembly, misalignment will occur. This can cause damage to the wiper motor, the wiper arm assembly, and/or the window.

Do not manually rotate the wiper arm assembly on the shaft.

  1. Position wiper motor (9). Install bolts (5). Install washers (8), nut (7), and cap (6). Tighten nut (7) to a torque of 23 ± 1 N·m (204 ± 9 lb in). Wait for thirty minutes and tighten nut (7) to a torque of 23 ± 1 N·m (204 ± 9 lb in).

    Note: Do not wait more than four hours in order to tighten nut (7).

  2. Install wiper arm (4). Install nut (3). Connect hose (2).

  3. Connect harness assembly (1) and install the cable strap.

  4. Close the hood.

  5. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
