Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to transmission oil cooler (16) and position transmission oil cooler (16). The weight of transmission oil cooler (16) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).

- Install bolts (17) to transmission oil cooler (16) .

- Position tube assembly (11) and install bolts (13) .

- Position tube assembly (11) and install bolts (10). Position tube assembly (9) and install bolts (12) .

- Position tube assembly (9) and install bolts (7). Connect harness assembly (8) .

- Install guard assembly (4), clip (5), and bolt (6) .

- Install hose (2) and tube (3). Tighten clamps (1) .

- Fill the transmission and the torque converter. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Converter and Transmission Oil - Change".
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
End By: Install the rear crankcase guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase Guard - Remove and Install".
