Charge filter (1) is located on the left side of the engine compartment. The steering pump supplies charge oil to the propulsion system through this filter.

The base of the charge filter contains pressure tap (2) and a bypass valve. Charge pressure can be measured at this pressure tap. If the pressure differential across the charge filter reaches 350 kPa (51 psi), the bypass valve opens. When the bypass valve is open, unfiltered oil will flow around the charge filter. The oil is then sent to the propel pump.
