Electrostatic Painting And/Or Incorrect Welding Can Cause Permanent Damage To Electronic Control Module (ECM)

Usage:


3176, 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines

Electrostatic painting and/or incorrect welding can cause permanent damage to the Electronic Control Module (ECM) on either 3176 or 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines.

DO NOT electrostatically paint a 3176 Truck Engine, 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engine, or its vehicle with the engine installed.

To avoid any damage to the ECM, do the following before welding on either the engine or the vehicle:

... On the 3176 Truck Engines, disconnect P8/J8, P7/J7 and P14/J14. See Illustration 1.
... On 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines, disconnect P2/J2 and P13/J13. See Illustration 2.
