Fuel Priming Pump

Usage:

Remove and Install Fuel Priming Pump

Fluid Spillage Containment

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to the Tools And Shop Products Guide, NENG2500, for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

1. Turn the fuel supply valve to the "OFF" position.

2. Remove two bolts (1), and remove fuel priming pump (2).

3. Inspect the gasket beneath fuel priming pump (2). Install a new gasket if needed.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the fuel priming pump.

4. Ensure that the gasket is in position for the fuel priming pump.

5. Put fuel priming pump (2) in position on the fuel filter base. Install and tighten bolts (1).

6. Turn the fuel supply valve to the "ON" position.
