This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI10936" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code.
Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI10936" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Early production Retrofit Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems (SCR's) left the factory without Hot Surface / Read Operators Manual Warning Plates.

The Warning plates serve as a reminder to the technician to read and understand the applicable service information before performing any work so they can prepare for all potential hazards, including hot surfaces and hatch weights.

The lack of the Hot Surface / Read Operators Manual Warning Plates in conjunction with other factors or circumstances, may result in a risk of personal injury or death.

MODELS INVOLVED: Retrofit Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems (SCR's) with Legacy (CleanAIR Systems) Factory Reference Numbers: 760001 - 760323

Before inspecting and installing the plates, allow the SCR cool to ambient temperature. Failure to do so could expose service personnel to burns and or fire.

Inspect the SCR in order to determine if factory Hot Surface / Read operators manual warning plates are present. Image 1 shows common locations of warning Plates on current Retrofit Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems.

If Welded Factory Hot Surface / Read Operators Manual Warning Plates are present (Image 2), then no further action is required.

If Warning Plates are not present, refer to attached Rework Procedure.

Rework Procedure

Before inspecting and installing the plates, allow the SCR cool to ambient temperature. Failure to do so could expose service personnel to burns and or fire.

If after inspection, rework is necessary, install the hatch Hot Surface / Read Operators Manual Warning Plates. Refer to Image 1.1.1. Remove two 3/8 inch hatch cover nuts and bolts per hatch as shown Image 1.1.2 or Image 1.1.3. Placement of Hot Surface / Read the Operators Manual Warning Plate must be installed to avoid interference with adjacent bolted connections while minimizing the amount of bracket hanging beyond the hatch cover. Reinstall the nuts and bolts that were removed. Tighten the bolt to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
