Adjust all mirrors as specified in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. Failure to heed this warning can lead to personal injury or death.

Slips and falls can result in personal injury. Use the machines access systems when adjusting the mirrors. If the mirrors cannot be reached using the machine access systems follow the instructions found within the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Mirror" in order to access the mirrors.

Mirrors provide additional visibility around your machine. Make sure that the mirrors are in proper working condition and that the mirrors are clean. Adjust all mirrors at the beginning of each work period and adjust the mirrors when you change operators.

Modified Machines or machines that have additional equipment or attachments may influence your visibility.

Mirror Adjustment

  • Park the machine on a level surface.

  • Stop the engine.

Note: You may need to use hand tools to adjust certain types of mirrors.

Right Side Rear View Mirror

Adjust the right side rear view mirror (1) so the right side of the cab can be seen. Adjust the right side rear view mirror (1) so the top 100 mm (4 inch) of rear tire can be seen. Refer to illustration 3. Also adjust the right side rear view mirror to see the following:

  • See an object on the ground at a distance of 30 m (98 ft) to the rear of the motor grader.

Right Side Circular Rear View Mirror

Adjust the right side circular rear view mirror (2) to see the full width of the right rear tire. Adjust the right side circular rear view mirror to see an object on the ground to the right and to the rear of the rear tire. Also adjust the right side circular rear view mirror to see the following:

  • See an object 2 m (6 ft 6 inch) from the right side of the rear tire on the ground.

Right Side Front View Mirror

The right side front view mirror (3) is used to see the front of the machine and to the left of the machine.

Adjust the right side front view mirror (3) to see the following:

  • The top of the front frame

  • See an object on the ground 2 m (6 ft 6 inch) to the left of the left blade cylinder.

  • See an object 6 m (20 ft) from the front left tire.

Left Side Rear View Mirror

Adjust the left side rear view mirror (4) so the left side of the cab can be seen. Adjust the left side rear view mirror (4) so the top 100 mm (4 inch) of rear tire can be seen. Refer to illustration 6. Also adjust the left side rear view mirror to see the following:

  • See an object on the ground at a distance of 30 m (98 ft) to the rear of the motor grader.

Left Side Circular Rear View Mirror

Adjust the left side circular rear view mirror (5) to see the full width of the left rear tire. Adjust the left side circular rear view mirror to see an object on the ground to the left and to the rear of the rear tire. Also adjust the left side circular rear view mirror to see the following:

  • See an object 2 m (6 ft 6 inch) from the left side of the rear tire on the ground.

Left Side Front View Mirror

The left side front view mirror (6) is used to see the front of the machine and to the right of the machine.

Adjust the left side front view mirror (6) to see the following:

  • The top of the front frame

  • See an object on the ground 2 m (6 ft 6 inch) to the right of the right blade cylinder.

  • See an object 6 m (20 ft) from the front right tire.

Left Side Rear Cab Mirror

The cab mirror (7) can be adjusted to a position to allow the operator to see preferred areas on the left side of the machine during operations.

Center Rear Cab Mirror

The cab mirror (8) can be adjusted to a position to allow the operator to see preferred areas around the machine during operations.

Right Side Rear Cab Mirror

The cab mirror (9) can be adjusted to a position to allow the operator to see preferred areas on the right side of the machine during operations.
