The radius for the O-ring groove (1) that is under the hex head on plug (2) has changed from a maximum radius of 0.8 mm (0.03 inch) to a specified radius of 0.7 ± 0.1 mm (0.028 ± 0.004 inch). The new radius will lower the stress on the part.

Adaptable To: The updated 6E-4502 Plug is adaptable back to the beginning of production of the machines. The updated plug became effective in production with the machines 4ER1370-UP, 2FM1114-UP, 5FM6327-UP, 5HM4018-UP, XZH1923-UP, XZJ467-UP and XZK532-UP.

Apply the correct torque to the 6E-4502 Plug (2). Torque the plug to 9 N·m (80 lb in) to 10 N·m (89 lb in). If you tighten the plug too much, a crack could develop in the O-ring groove. This could lead to a leak or the failure of the part.
