Controller Board Battery - Replace

Changing the Battery

The controller board uses a lithium battery. The battery has an estimated life of 5 years.

------ WARNING! ------

Always replace a lithium battery with another lithium battery. Care must be taken in handling a lithium battery to prevent short circuiting the terminals on the battery. Improper handling of a lithium battery may cause an explosion that may result in personal injury from caustic burns.


  1. Remove power from the system.

  2. Open the appropriate cabinet door.

  3. Wear an electrostatic discharge wrist strap. Gently remove the battery (1) from the receptacle by pressing against the center retaining tab. Lift the battery (1) from the receptacle.

  4. Replace the battery (1) with the identical model as the battery (1) that is installed.

  5. Close the cabinet door.

  6. Return power to the system.

  7. Reset the system clock.
