Calibration Procedure for the DC Bus Voltage
Note: Perform this Procedure whenever the following boards are replaced: DC Interface Board and System Controller Board.

- Place the key switch in Bypass position (1) on the MMU that is being calibrated.

- Disable the input voltage to the System by opening the input circuit breaker.
Note: Continuing with this step may disable power to the load.
- Connect a PC to the Parallel Cabinet Interface (PCI) in the System Cabinet. Turn the selector switch (3) to the position for the desired MMU.

- Close the input circuit breaker in order to restore the power to the System.
The System will start but the key will remain in the Bypass position.
- Start your PC.
- Run the UPS View software by double clicking over the icon (4) on your PC.

- Click over the "PC Settings" in the Menu Bar.
Refer to Illustration 4.
The window that is shown in illustration 5 will open.

- Click over the "Connection Settings" in the Menu Bar.
Refer to Illustration 4.
The window that is shown in illustration 5 will open.
- Check the "Direct Connect (serial)" radio button (6) .
- Select your PC COM Port (7) for this Serial Connection and set the Baud rate (8) .
Note: The radio button for "Detailed MMU telemetry" (9) must be checked.
- Click on the "OK" Button (10) in order to accept these settings.
- Click on "Connection" on the Menu Bar.

- Select "Connect" from the drop-down menu.
Your PC will be connected to the System. Your PC will receive the System Telemetry.
- Once you are Connected, Click over the "Enter Password" (13) in the Menu Bar.
The "Enter User Name/Password" window will open. Refer to illustration 7.

- Enter your username.
- Enter your password.
- Click on "OK" Button.
After the password has been entered, the menu bar will change.
The Menu bar will contain a "Calibrate" Option.
- Click on the "Calibrate" menu.

- Select "DC Bus Voltages". Refer to illustration 8.
A "Calibration of a Channel" window will open. Refer to illustration 9.
- Click on "View Status" button.
Another "Calibration Group Status" window will open. Refer to illustration 9.

- Drag this window aside if the view of "Calibration of a Channel" window is blocked.
- Click on "Use Defaults" on "Calibration of a Channel" window.
You will be prompted to "Enter Calibration Point for Positive DC Bus".
Note: The "Minimum Button" on "Calibration of a Channel" window is selected. Refer to illustration 9. The "Minimum Button" on "Calibration of a Channel" window is the default selection.
- Measure the DC Bus Voltage from the DC Common terminal to the Positive DC Bus terminal .
This value should be close to zero.
- Enter this value in "Enter Calibration Point" field and click "OK". Refer to illustration 10.
The System will process the Calibration and the System will automatically change the prompt to "Enter Calibration Point" for "Negative DC Bus". The "Calibration of a Channel" window will change in order to show "Positive DC Bus Minimum value entered". Refer to illustration 11.

- Measure the DC Bus Voltage from the DC Common terminal to the Negative DC Bus terminal .
This value should be close to zero.

- Enter the value that was measured in Step 25 into the "Enter Calibration Point" field and click "OK". Refer to illustration 12.
The System will process the calibration. The system will prompt you to "Enter Calibration Point for Positive DC Bus". Refer to illustration 13.
The "Calibration Group Status" window will display "Negative DC Bus Voltage Minimum value entered". Refer to illustration 13.

- Click on the "Maximum" button.
You will hear the input contactor "K1" close. The Static Switch will turn on and the DC Bus will rise.
You will be prompted to "Enter Calibration Point for Positive DC Bus". Refer to illustration 15.

- Measure the DC Bus Voltage from the DC Common terminal to the Positive DC Bus terminal on the Field Coil Driver Module. Enter this value in "Enter Calibration Point" field. Click "OK". Refer to illustration 12.
The System will process the calibration. The system will automatically prompt you to "Enter Calibration Point for Negative DC Bus". Refer to illustration 16.
The "Calibration Group Status" window will Display "Positive DC Voltage Calibration Complete but not saved".

- Measure the DC Bus Voltage from the DC Common terminal to the Negative DC Bus terminal .
- Enter this value in "Enter Calibration Point" field and click "OK". Refer to illustration 12.
The System will process Calibration. The System will prompt you to "Enter Calibration Point for positive DC Bus".
The "Calibration Group Status" window will display "Negative DC Voltage Calibration Complete but not saved".
- Click on "Save" on "Calibration of a channel" window.
You will hear the input contactor "K1" open.
The Calibration ends. You will see the following message on the text window of UPS View: "Flash reprogrammed OK". This indicates that the Calibration has been done successfully.

- To end the calibration in UPS View, click on the "Connection" on the Menu Bar.

- Select "Disconnect".
Your PC will stop receiving the System Telemetry.
- Unplug the RS232 cable from the System Input/Output and Isolation Board and put back the sheet metal panels.
- Close the doors for proper air flow into the System.
