New attachments have been developed for Caterpillar machine models and engine arrangements. The QuickEvac System automates engine oil change intervals. Automation will reduce the amount of time that is spent on regular service of the engines. QuickEvac technology can evacuate most oil sumps in less than 60 seconds. The QuickEvac system can be especially economical on machines with drain plugs that are extremely difficult to reach.

The system uses compressed air to purge the used oil out of the filter and into the oil pan. The QuickEvac pump will then evacuate the old engine oil into environmentally safe containers. The filters can then be removed with minimal engine oil in order to eliminate oil leakage. Once the new filters are installed, fresh oil is pumped into the engine. The new oil is added through the filters in order to ensure that there is no contamination.

The QuickEvac system will also prevent an engine start without proper lubrication. The prelube cycle pressurizes the lubrication system before the engine is started. The QuickEvac pump is activated once the keyswitch is turned to the ON position. This pump pressurizes the lubrication system in order to ensure proper lubrication. The keyswitch must be held in the START position in order to operate the QuickEvac system. While the QuickEvac pump is energized, an indicator light that is located on the dashboard will be illuminated. Once the entire lubrication system is pressurized, the starter will be engaged.

Dealers have several options in order to source the QuickEvac system for Caterpillar machines. Retrofit kits are available for conversions at dealerships on existing machines and on new machines. If the QuickEvac system has been released as a factory installed attachment, the system can be installed before the delivery to the dealer. Information about new installations on machines and availability of parts for a retrofitting can be found by contacting RPM Industries.
