Hoist Control - Adjust

Usage:

789B 7EK
Note: The hoist control linkage must be correctly adjusted for the proper operation of the transmission neutralizer.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from machine transmission neutralizing.

The transmission on this machine will neutralize when the transmission shift lever is in reverse and the hydraulic control lever is in either raise or lower position.

The neutralizer will not stop the machine from rolling. Use the brakes to stop the machine.

(22) RAISE position

When the hoist control (1) is moved to either the RAISE or LOWER position, the transmission should go from the REVERSE position to the NEUTRAL position. If this does not occur, a linkage adjustment may be necessary. An electrical failure in the neutralizer switch or the electrical wires could also be the cause.

The hoist control (1) must be 365 mm (14.4 inch) from the floor of the cab when the hoist control is in the HOLD position. If the measurement for dimension (2) is not correct, the control linkage needs to be adjusted.

Control Linkage Operation

The hoist control (1) is located to the left of the operator's seat. The hoist control is connected to a cross shaft (3) which exits the cab on the right side of the cab. Lever (4) connects cross shaft (3) to end (7) of the adjustable rod (5) . End (10) is part of rod (5) . End (10) is adjustable. End (10) connects to a lever (11) . Lever (11) is connected to cross shaft (6) which is connected to another lever. This part of the control linkage is enclosed in a cover assembly. A cable assembly (18) with an adjustable end (13) connects to the cross shaft on one end and to lever (16) at the hydraulic oil tank on the other end.

Control Linkage Adjustment

  1. Hold the actuating lever (16) perpendicular to rod end (15) during the following adjustments. This is the HOLD position.

  1. Adjust rod end (15) of cable assembly (18) in order to get a distance of 197 mm (7.8 inch) (17) .

  1. Tighten locknut (14) .

  1. Make the necessary adjustments at locations (7) , (10) , or (13) in order to get a distance (2) of 365 mm (14.4 inch). This is the correct distance between the hoist control (1) in the HOLD position and the floor of the cab.

  1. Tighten all respective locknuts (8) , (9) , or (12) .

  1. Make sure that it is possible to position the hoist control (1) and lever (16) in all four positions of operation.
