Improved Planet Shafts Have Increased Service Life {4008, 4051}

Usage:

D400E II 8PS
Articulated Truck:
D400E Series II (S/N: 8PS1-UP)
D400E Series II Ejector (S/N: APF1-UP)

Description of Change: An improved planet shaft (1) is now available. See Illustration 1.

Typical example of a final drive group

The new 190-3593 Planet Shafts are direct replacement items for the 4V-4501 Planet Shafts. The new planet shafts are manufactured with an improved surface finish. Improvements have also been made to the material that is used for the planet shafts.

The 4V-4501 Planet Shafts are still used in other products in the Caterpillar range. For this reason, the previous planet shafts have not been cancelled.

Adaptable To: The new 190-3593 Planet Shafts are effective with the D400E Series II (S/N: 8PS911-UP) and with the D400E Series II Ejector (S/N: APF301-UP). The new 190-3593 Planet Shafts are adaptable to earlier machines.
