The ECM detects all of the following conditions:

• The ECM output for the travel alarm is off.

• The ECM has detected an open or a short to +battery at the output for the travel alarm for 1 ± 0.2 seconds.

• The engine speed is within 100 rpm of low idle speed.

System Response:

The ECM will log the diagnostic code. The diagnostic code may be viewed on a display module or on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET). If an open circuit becomes active, the fault will remain active even when the control current is turned off. The fault will only be cleared when the control current is off and the open circuit is removed. The fault will also be cleared when the keyswitch is cycled.
