CB-334D and CB-335D Vibratory Compactors Caterpillar

Note: There is an eccentric weight housing for each drum. There are two eccentric weight housings on the CB-334E. There is one eccentric weight housing on the CB-335E.

Use the water drain hole in order to orient the oil drain hole.

1. Block drums (1) .

2. Support the weight of the machine from behind the front drum.

3. Remove four hoses (3) on the hydraulic motor.

4. Remove the five bolts that secure plate (4) to the rubber mounts.

5. Remove the four bolts on support (2) and remove support (2) .

6. Remove plate (4) and remove motor assembly (5) .

   Note: Use Caterpillar 4C-9506 Retaining Compound when you reassemble the bolts.

7. Remove drain plug (6) .

8. Drain the oil into a suitable container.

9. Clean drain plug (6) .

10. Install drain plug (6) .

11. Remove filler plug (7) .

12. Fill the drum until the oil is at the bottom of the hole for filler plug (7) .

13. Install filler plug (7) .

14. Reverse the process in order to reassemble the drum.
