(1) Rubber toric seals and all of the surfaces that contact the seals must be clean and dry before assembly. Apply a thin oil film to the contacting surfaces of the metal seal rings prior to assembly. Seal rings must be assembled square with the bore. The seal rings must not be twisted. Put lubricant on all other seals at assembly.

(2) Torque for bolts ... 135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft)

Note: Make sure that there is metal to metal contact between the retainer and the hub before the bolts are tightened.

(3) Torque for bolts ... 475 ± 60 N·m (350 ± 45 lb ft)

(4) The cover must make contact with the shaft before the bolts are tightened.

(5) Torque for sprocket bolts

Put SAE 30W oil on the threads and tighten the bolts to the following torque. ... 300 ± 50 N·m (220 ± 37 lb ft)

Tighten the bolts further. ... 120°

(6) Torque for bolts ... 750 ± 90 N·m (550 ± 65 lb ft)
