Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve - Assemble
Assembly Procedure
- Be sure that all of the parts of the transmission hydraulic control valve are clean. Put clean oil on all of the parts of the valves. Inspect all O-ring seals for damage. If the seals are worn or damaged, install new seals.

Do not use any type of caustic materials or corrosive materials to clean any parts of the selector and pressure control valves. Caustic material or corrosive material will cause corrosion and damage to parts. |
- Put lower plate (1) on manifold (2) .

- Assemble the selector and pressure control valve in the following manner:
- Install O-ring seal (4) on orifice (3) .
- Install orifice (3) in selector and pressure control valve (5) .

- Install two stops toward the end of the selector and pressure control valve. Be sure that the holes in the stops are in alignment with the holes in the valve body. Install dowels (10) and (11) that hold the stops in place.

- Install spool (6), slug (7), and stop (8). Be sure that the hole in stop (8) is in alignment with the hole in the valve body. Install dowel (9) that holds stop (8) in place.
- Install the two springs and retainer (13) in valve spool (12). Push the retainer in the valve spool and install snap ring (14) .

- Install valve spool assembly (15) and spring (16) in the selector and pressure control valve.

- Install plunger (18), spring (19), retainer (20), and snap ring (21) in valve spool (17) .

- Install slug (22) in valve spool assembly (23). Install valve spool assembly (23), springs (24), spacers (25), and piston (26) in the selector and pressure control valve.

- Install O-ring seals (27) on cover (28). Put cover (28) in position. Install the three bolts that hold the cover in place. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).

- Install valve spool (29) in the selector and pressure control valve.

- Install O-ring seals (30) on four detents (31) .

- Install detent (31) on each side of the selector and pressure control valve for valve spool (29) .

- Install stop (32) and pin (33). These two parts hold valve spool (29) in place.

- Install valve spool (34). Install detent (31) on each side of the selector and pressure control valve for valve spool (34) .

- Install stop (35) and pin (36). These two parts hold valve spool (34) in place.

- Put selector and pressure control valve (5) in position on plate (1) and manifold (2) .

- Put plate (37) in position on selector and pressure control valve (5). Install the 24 bolts and washers that hold the transmission hydraulic control together. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).

- Put the O-ring seal on elbow (38). Install the elbow with two bolts (39). Tighten bolts (39) to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).
