Description of Change: Shims or plates are now provided with the front suspension group. The shims or plates are installed between the frame support and the upper suspension cylinder bearing. The shims or plates will increase the service life of the upper suspension cylinder bearing.
Adaptable To: The shims or plates are effective with 784B (5RK18-Up) Tractors, 785B (6HK499-Up) and 789B (7EK371-Up) Trucks. This change is not adaptable to earlier machines (Refer to Note below).
NOTE: The shims should not be needed on the earlier machines, but are adaptable to the earlier machines IF gaps have opened.
Assemble suspension cylinder to the lower mounting. Measure gap with the weight of the machine off the suspension cylinder to determine the number of shims or plates necessary per individual gap. Do NOT force any additional shims or plates into the gap. Use only the quantity necessary. Secure bolts to eliminate any gap left between the frame support and the bearing.
Typical location (1) of 127-7050 Shims (784B Tractor and 785B Truck) or 117-4935 Plates (789B Truck).
