Usage:
(1) Bore in bearing for pin ... 2.4513 ± .0003 in.(62.263 ± 0.008 mm)
Pin diameter ... 2.4498 ± .0002 in.(62.225 ± 0.005 mm)
Maximum permissible clearance of used pin and bearing ... .003 in.(0.08 mm)
(2) Distance between pin center to bearing center ... 18.000 ± .001 in.(457.20 ± 0.03 mm)
(3) Bore in connecting rod for bearing ... 5.3845 ± .0005 in.(136.766 ± 0.013 mm)
Clearance between bearing and bearing surface (journal) ... .0031 to .0073 in.(0.079 to 0.185 mm)
Maximum permissible clearance of used bearing and worn bearing surface (journal) ... .012 in.(0.30 mm)
(4) Torque for both bolts for connecting rod:
a. Put crankcase oil on threads.
b. Tighten all bolts to ... 40 ± 4 lb. ft.(55 ± 5 N·m)
c. Put a mark on each bolt and cap.
d. Tighten each bolt from mark ... 120°
After tightening connecting rod bolts; end clearance between bearing cap for connecting rod and crankshaft ... .0095 to .0355 in.(0.241 to 0.902 mm)
Install piston on rod so "V" mark on top of piston is opposite the rod cap bolts.
NOTE: Piston pin bearing junction and locating notch must be assembled as shown. Bearing junction can be located at either postion "A".
