Usage:

(1) Bore in bearing for piston pin ... 1.5010 ± .0003 in.(38.125 ± 0.007 mm)

(2) Bore in connecting rod for bearing [when tightened according to procedure shown in (6)] ... 2.9418 ± .0005 in.(74.721 ± 0.013 mm)

(3) Distance between center of bearing for piston pin and center of bearing for crankshaft journal ... 7.900 ± .001 in.(200.66 ± 0.03 mm)

(4) Diameter of piston pin ... 1.4999 ± .0002 in.(38.097 ± 0.005 mm)

Maximum permissible clearance between bearing and piston pin ... .003 in.(0.08 mm)

(5) Bore in bearing for crankshaft bearing surfaces (journal) ... 2.753 ± .001 in.(69.93 ± 0.03 mm)

Clearance between bearing and crankshaft bearing surface (journal) ... .0030 ± .0015 in.(0.076 ± 0.038 mm)

Maximum permissible clearance between bearing and crankshaft bearing surface (journal) ... .007 in.(0.18 mm)

(6) Torque for nuts:

A. Put crankcase oil on bolt threads and seating faces of cap and nut.

B. Tighten both nuts to ... 30 ± 3 lb. ft.(40 ± 4 N·m)

C. Put a mark on each nut and cap.

D. Tighten each nut from mark ... 60° ± 5°

NOTE: Piston pin bearing junction and locating notch must be assembled in the top half of rod eye. Bearing junction can be located at either position "A" above centerline.
