Usage:
1. Loosen the track. See Separation Of Track.
2. Fasten a hoist to the track as shown. Support the weight of the track, and install blocks (1) to hold the track away from the carrier roller.
3. Remove two bolts (3) and carrier roller (2) from bracket (4).
4. Remove four bolts (5) and bracket (4) from the track roller frame.
Install Carrier Rollers
1. Put bracket (1) in position on the track roller frame, and install four bolts (2).
2. Install carrier roller (4) in bracket (1) until the end of the carrier roller shaft is even with surface (X) on bracket (1). If necessary, adjust the carrier roller to align with the track.
3. Install two bolts (3).
4. Fasten a hoist to the track. Support the weight of the track, and remove blocks (5). Remove the hoist.
5. Adjust the track. See Connection Of Track.
Disassemble Carrier Rollers
Start By:
a. remove carrier rollers
1. Remove plug (1) and drain the oil from the roller.
2. Hold collar assembly (2) in place, and remove ring (3). Remove the collar assembly from the roller.
3. Remove the Duo-Cone seal from the collar assembly.
4. Remove O-ring seal (4) and Duo-Cone seal (5) from the roller.
5. Install two 1/4 "-20 NC forged eyebolts in support assembly (7). Remove the support assembly from the roller. Remove O-ring seal (6) from the support assembly.
6. Remove three bolts (9) and cover (8) from the roller.
7. Bend the tabs of lock (10) away from the heads of the bolts.
8. Remove bolts (11), lock (10) and plate (12).

Do not let shaft (14) fall when it is removed from bearing (13). |
9. Use a press, and remove shaft (14) from bearing cone (13) and the roller.
10. Remove bearing cone (13) from the roller.
11. Use a press, and remove bearing cone (15) from shaft (14).
12. If necessary, remove bearing cups (17) from roller (16).
Assemble Carrier Rollers
1. Lower the temperature of bearing cups (2). Install the bearing cups in roller (1).
2. Heat bearing cone (3) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F). Install bearing cone (3) on shaft (4).
3. Install the shaft and bearing cone in the roller.
4. Heat bearing cone (6) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F). Install the bearing cone on the shaft.
5. Install plate (8) with the ground surface toward the shaft and bearing cone (6).
6. Install lock (5) and bolts (7). Bend the ends of lock (5) against the head of bolts (7).
7. Put O-ring seal (10) in a mixture of soap and water, and install the O-ring seal on cover (9).
8. Put cover (9) in position on the roller, and install three bolts (11).
9. Put O-ring seal (12) in a mixture of soap and water, and install the O-ring seal on support assembly (13).
10. Use two 1/4 "-20 NC forged eyebolts, and install support assembly (13) in the roller.

11. Use tool (A), and install Duo-Cone seal (15) in the support assembly.
13. Put O-ring seal (14) in a mixture of soap and water, and install the O-ring seal on the shaft.
14. Use tool (A), and install Duo-Cone seal (16) in collar assembly (17).
15. Put collar assembly (17) in position on the roller. Use tool (B) to hold the collar assembly in position, and install the ring that holds it in place.
16. Put 246 ± 15 cc (.52 ± .03 pint) SAE 30 oil in the roller, and install plug (18). Tighten the plug to a torque of 170 ± 20 N·m (125 ± 15 lb ft).
