Usage:
To prevent personal injury, never visually inspect the vent holes or valves to see if grease or oil is coming out of them. Make sure the vent holes are clean before the tension is released on the track. Watch the front roller frame to see that it moves. |
For correct track adjustment, use the procedure that follows:
NOTE: The track adjustment procedure should be performed under the same conditions in which the machine is used. Packing must NOT be removed from the track if packing conditions exist on the job.
1. Move the machine forward a distance of twice its length. Allow the machine to come to a stop without the use of brakes.
2. Add multipurpose grease MPG through fill valve until idler moves forward (toward the front of the machine) until the track is tight.
3. Measure dimension A.
4. Open the relief valve one turn, and allow the idler to move back 6 mm (.24 in). Move the machine back and forth to help move the idler back.
5. Close the relief valve.
Dimension A with new undercarriage is approximately ... 40 mm (1.57 in)
Dimension A at maximum adjustment is approximately ... 102 mm (4.0 in)
At this time, the track pins and bushings are to be turned, or new track link assemblies installed.
NOTE: Accidental over-pressurization of the track adjustment cylinder at maximum track adjustment position is prevented by a machined flat on the cylinder piston which vents the grease pressure.
