Usage:
1. Install gear (7), bearing assembly (8) and shaft (10) into the housing without shims (12).
2. Tighten four bolts (9) evenly to a torque of ... 7 ± 1 N·m (5 ± 1 lb.ft.)
3. Measure the distance between the housing and shaft (1) at three locations.
4. Make and install a thickness of shims (12) the same thickness as the average distance measured minus ... 0.10 mm (.004 in.)
5. Install gears (6) and (14), bearings (4) and (13) and cages (1) and (15) without seals or shims (3) and (11). Tighten bolts (2) and (16) evenly until a small resistance in rotation is felt.
6. Measure the distance between the housing and cage (1), and the housing and cage (15) in three places.
7. Make and install a thickness of shims (3) and shims (11) the same thickness as the average distance measured plug ... 0.10 mm (.004 in.)
NOTE: Install a small amount of lubricant on seal (5) and in the bores of the cages before the O-ring seals are installed.
8. The end play of gears (6) and (14) must be ... 0.05 to 0.15 mm (.002 to .006 in.)
NOTE: After assembly, put in .95 liter (1 U.S guart) of SAE 10W oil in the oil pump drive housing before the engine is started.
