*For use on D7H, 627E and 637E Scraper Engines which are equipped with the Laminated Thermoshield fuel injection lines. These engines have a water-cooled center section turbocharger and a heat shield around the turbocharger's turbine housing.
The following parts are for replacing the existing oil drain tube on 627E and 637E only. These parts are required only with the Laminated Thermoshield fuel injection lines.
Action Required
D6H and D7H Tractors, 14G and 140G Motor Graders, Challenger 65 Tractors, 235C Excavators, 615C, 627E and 637E Scrapers, 815B and 816B Compactors, 966E and 966F Wheel Loaders
Replace the existing #1-#4 fuel lines with a new 4P9330 Lines Group and the existing #5 & #6 fuel lines with a new 4P9331 Lines Group except when equipped with Laminated Thermoshield fuel lines.
On D7H, 627E and 637E Scraper Engines only, it is necessary to determine if the machine is equipped with the standard fuel lines or the optional Laminated Thermoshield fuel lines. These engines have a water-cooled center section turbocharger and heat shield around the turbocharger's turbine housing.
If equipped with Laminated Thermoshield fuel lines, do not remove the 7E8530 Rear Support Bracket, 7E9028 Mid Support Bracket, 7E1356 #1 Fuel Line Support Bracket, 7E5887 #2 Fuel Line Bracket and 7E5887 #3 Fuel Line Bracket from the engine. Loosely assemble the six new fuel lines. Use new clamp assemblies and place them at the locations shown in Illustration 1. Tighten all the fuel lines as described in the September 11, 1989 Service Magazine. Tighten the fuel line nuts to the injector and injection pump only after all brackets have been tightened.
In addition to replacing the fuel lines on 627E and 637E, replace the existing oil drain tube with a new 1W8057 Tube, 9N5328 Adapter, 9M4849 Seal and 1S4810 Gasket.
If an engine has the Laminated Thermoshield lines installed without the watercooled turbine housing and heat shield, use the 6I0341, 6I0342, 6I0343, 6I0344, 6I0345, 6I0346 Fuel Lines. Do not replace the turbocharger drain line and adapter.
3306 Industrial and Truck Engines
On 3306 Truck Engines (except in Ford trucks), replace the existing #1-#4 fuel lines with a new 4P9330 Lines Group and existing #5 & #6 fuel lines with a new 4P9332 Lines Group.
On Ford trucks, replace the existing #1-4 fuel lines with a new 1005673 Fuel Line Group and the #5 & #6 fuel lines with a new 1005674 Lines Group.
