PARTS NEEDED

Material requirements vary depending on; 1) truck/tractor model and 2) inspection results. To repair a particular machine, some portion or all of the material listed below may be required:
 

TEMPORARY REPAIR

The intent of this Program is to provide a permanent repair without using the temporary repair; however, in some circumstances, the temporary repair may precede a permanent repair. As an example, if permanent repair parts are not readily available the temporary repair procedure may be used. The temporary repair is intended for use for a period of less than six months because it prohibits inspection of the cab support mounting bolts.
 

ACTION REQUIRED

Under certain circumstances, a temporary repair may be necessary. The temporary repair may be considered when permanent repair parts are not readily available; the machine will be retired within six months, etc. In cases where the Fourth Repair Option (temporary repair) may be necessary, contact your Service Representative for direction. Following the structural repair of the machine, replace a portion of the exhaust system. All repairs must be performed as specified. State the repair option used for the repair. Enter the repair option used into SIMS in the Claim Story section. If you have any questions, contact your Service Representative for direction. If the first repair option that specifies replace the tube assembly, clean the interior, and apply coating is used, description code "U" should be used as the SIMS description code. If the second repair option that specifies replace the tube assembly, clean the interior, apply coating, and reinforce the main beam is used, description code "T" should be used as the SIMS description code. If the third repair option that specifies replace the tube assembly, clean the interior, apply coating, reinforce the main beam, and replace the outrigger is used, description code "B" should be used as the SIMS description code. If the fourth temporary repair option that reinforces the outrigger is used, description code "Z" should be used as the SIMS description code.
 
 

Repair Procedure:

1. Repair the main beam of the frame and rear cab support of the machine as indicated in the special instruction specific to the truck/tractor model. In certain situations, a temporary repair will be indicated. Read and understand the appropriate special instruction before proceeding:

a. For 784B, 784C, 785, 785B, 785C and 785C HAA, refer to media number: REHS1525.

b. For 789, 789B and 789C, refer to media number: REHS2416.

c. For 793, 793B and 793C, refer to media number: REHS2417.

2. Replace a portion of the exhaust system in the main beam as specified below:

a. For 784B, 784C, 785, 785B, 785C and 785C HAA, remove 5T-7938 Tube Assembly and install 230-7888 Tube Assembly and 231-2812 Seal-Ring.

b. For 789, 789B and 789C, remove existing 5T-7938 Tube Assembly and install 230-7889 Tube Assembly and 231-2812 Seal-Ring.

c. For 793, 793B and 793C, remove existing 8X-3360 Tube Assembly and install 230-7890 Tube Assembly and 231-2812 Seal-Ring.

Order the quantity of product required. One liter of Extend will repair two mining trucks.
