Description of Change: A new seal kit has been added to the drag conveyor assembly. Each drag conveyor drive shaft sprocket and hub has a clearance around it where it passes through the main frame and chain guard. Asphalt may enter and fill the conveyor drive assembly through these openings. This can result in early wear and possible failure of the conveyor drive chains and the sprockets and hubs. The 7R6356 Seal Kit prevents asphalt from entering the conveyor drive assembly.
Adaptable To: The 7R6356 Seal Kit is adaptable the model listed above.
Use the following procedure to add the seal kit to both drag conveyor drive shaft assemblies.
1. Remove the screed from the machine.
2. Remove the drive plates and chain guard from the main frame.
3. Remove any asphalt from inside the chain guard and drop housing.
4. Install the new 7R6359 Seals and the 7R6358 Retaining Collars between the sprocket and hub of each drag conveyor drive shaft.
5. Apply 6V1541 Primer with 9S3265 Locktite (high temperature) to the 2H3764 Retaining Collar Screws. Install the screws loosely.
6. Slide he seal assemblies against the main frame and tighten the collar screws.
7. Install the drive plates and the chain guard.
8. Install the screed.
