Description of Change: A new seal retainer is used in the differential and bevel gear groups on 824C Tractors and 980C Loaders. The new retainer positions the seal farther in on the yoke which helps eliminate the possibility of oil leakage. See illustration.
Adaptable To: The new 8R7425 Retainer is a direct replacement for the former 8V6044 Retainer in the differential and bevel gear groups on all of the above machines. Use of the new retainer is effective with 980C Loader 63X6575.
If leakage occurs in the retainer area on a machine in the field, replace the former retainer with the new one. Make a thorough investigation of the leakage before replacing the retainer to make sure that the retainer is at fault.
