Start By:
- Remove the manifold (suction).
When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death. |
- Use Tooling (F) to remove retaining nut (1).

- Rotate pinion (13) to reposition plunger (9). Reposition plunger (9) to remove valve retainer (10). Use Tooling (B) to turn valve retainer (10) 1/4 of a turn to remove valve retainer (10). Remove valve retainer (10), spring (11), and valve (12).

- Install the valve in the reverse order of removal.
- Clean the valve seat bore and the valve seat sealing surface thoroughly before installing.
- Place a valve seat (14) in both suction and discharge taper bores.
- Place valves (12) in both valve seats (14), press in by hand. Use all thread from tooling (C) tap the tap of the valve into place.
- Place the valve spring (11) on top of the valve (12). Using tooling (B) install the valve retainer (10).
- Place the valve spring (11) on top of the valve (12) on the discharge side.
- Apply Tooling (E) to seal (4) before installing discharge cover (3) and suction cover (5).
- Apply Tooling (D) to retaining nuts (1) and (2). Use Tooling (F) to tighten retaining nuts (1) and (2) to a torque of
3254 N·m (2400 lb ft) .
