Engine Oil Filter Housing - Assemble

Usage:

Assembly Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install the O-ring seal on adapter (12).

  2. Install adapter (12) to bypass valve housing (11). Apply clean unused engine oil to shaft of adapter (12). Using two people, install bypass valve housing (11) to the engine oil filter housing. Install bolts (10) and tighten to a torque of 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft).

  3. Install bypass valve and spring (9).

    Note: The bypass valve must move freely in the bore.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.

    To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.


  4. Install the O-ring seals. Install covers (8) and bolts (7).

  5. Install the O-ring seal to cover (6). Install cover (6) and nuts (4). Tighten nuts (4) to a torque of 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft). Install sensors (5) and tighten to a torque of 10 ± 2 N·m (89 ± 18 lb in).

  6. Install new engine oil filter elements (3).

  7. Install the O-ring seal on cover (2). Lubricate shaft of cover (1) with clean unused engine oil and Install cover (2) and bolts (1).

End By:

  1. Install the engine oil filter housing.
