Usage:
3116 Truck Engines
When reconditioning or replacing the injector sleeves in a cylinder head from a 3116 Truck Engine, it may be necessary to enlarge the injector tip bores (lower pilots) in the cylinder head. Due to a change in the tip bore diameter tolerance, it may be necessary to ream the bore to a larger diameter to provide adequate clearance for the lower pilot of the sleeve reamer. Because lower tip bores that are too small have been discovered randomly, it is recommended to ream all lower tip bores in the cylinder head before using the injector sleeve reamer.
The 9U6101 Lower Pilot Reamer Group consists of the components identified in the chart and illustration. The 9U6105 Guide Bushing (2) is inserted into the 4C8714 or 4C8715 Guide Bushing (part of the 4C4462 Sleeve Replacement Tool Group) to provide accurate location. The 9U6103 Collar (4) is used to drive the reamer with a inch wrench or socket. The 9U6102 Reamer (1) is made from high quality tool steel for a long service life. The reamer group comes in a protective tube. This tube can be used for storage to help prevent damage to the tool group.
