The user interface displays the following information:

Status Messages

Status messages indicate normal system events. The messages are displayed in the touchscreen (1) during normal operation. The messages are printed to the "Message log".

Notice Messages

System errors that are not critical will generate notice messages. When non-critical conditions exist, the system will not shift to the bypass mode. The system will also emit an audible alarm. The messages are printed to the "Notice Log" and to the "Message Log".

Alarm Messages

System errors that are critical will generate alarm messages. Alarm messages indicate that the system is in bypass mode and action is required. The system will also emit an audible alarm. The messages are printed to the "Alarm Log" and to the "Message Log".

Key Switch

The key switch (3) has three positions:

  • Bypass

  • On-line

  • Reset

Bypass (Systems Cabinet)

The bypass position places the UPS into Internal bypass mode when the load is not protected. However, the UPS is still regulating the voltage.

On-line

The on-line position places the UPS in the on-line state when the system is protecting the load and the system is regulating the voltage.

Reset

The reset position resets the electronics for the UPS. The rest position does not affect the load of the UPS.

Emergency Power Off Button

The emergency power off button (4) will remove power from the UPS. The EPO will drop the load.

Buzzer

For yellow and red messages, a buzzer will sound in order to indicate that there is a fault in the system.

The system does not shut down when a notice message and/or a yellow message is received. The buzzer indicates that there is a problem that needs attention.

There are a number of factors that produce an alarm (red message):

  • The system is shutting down due to a fault in the system.

  • The system will shut down if the system problem is not addressed.

Note: Each notice or each alarm in the system will result in the sounding of the buzzer for that precise event. When the same event occurs again, the notice or the alarm will not be repeated. If the same event is apparently fixed, but the same event reappears at a later stage, the buzzer will sound. The system will shut down. The system will not be available in the on-line mode until the event is cleared.
