Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The existing oil hoses are failing due to both heat exposure and abrasion.

Solution

The new 423-4640 Hose As and 423-4641 Hose As are a direct replacement for the existing 148-2104 Hose As and 144-0119 Hose As . Refer to Table 1 for a list of parts needed to install the new hose assemblies.

The removal procedure for existing hoses and the installation procedure for the new installing the new hose assemblies is shown below.

Table 1
New Part Number     Description     Quantity
319-6220     Elbow As     1
423-4640     Hose As     1
423-4641     Hose As     1
228-7093     O-Ring Seal     1
6V-1889     Clip     4
8T-7088     Grommet     3
204-2281     Cable Strap     3

Note: If either of the 148-2104 Hose As or 144-0119 Hose As fail, replacing all existing part numbers with the new parts is required.

  1. Connect hoses (7) and (8) to the remote oil filter base.

Note: New O-ring (6) must be used connecting hose (8) .

  1. Route hoses (7) and (8) and secure the hoses to the bracket where shown using clips (11), washers (12), bolts (13), and nut (14) .

Note: Bolts (113) and washers (12) were retained from the removal of the old parts.

  1. Install connector (15) into the oil line adapter. Connect the hoses to the connectors as shown.

  1. Install grommets (9) and cable straps (10) as shown in Illustration 2.
