Fuel Injection Control Linkage - Remove

Start By:

  1. Remove the rocker shaft and the pushrods.

  2. Remove the front drive housing.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove bolts (3). Disconnect lever assemblies (2) from fuel control shafts (1). Remove shaft (5), lever assemblies (2), and bracket assemblies (4).

  2. If necessary, use Tooling (A) to remove bearings (6) from bracket assemblies (4).

  3. Remove covers (7).

    Note: If necessary, use Tooling (B) to rotate the camshafts in order to allow removal of the rod assembly.

  4. Remove bolt (9) and the cap. Disconnect rod assembly (8) from the fuel control shaft.

  5. Remove bolts (11). Remove lever assembly (10) and rod assembly (8) as a unit.

  6. Remove locknut (12) and disconnect rod assembly (8) from lever assembly (10).

  7. Remove bolts (13) and support assemblies (14) from both sides of the engine. If necessary, remove bolt (16) and lever (15).

    Note: On some 3512 Engines, it may be necessary to remove the collar that holds the fuel control shafts together.

  8. Remove the fuel control shafts from the engine.

  9. Remove bolts (18) and bracket assemblies (17). If necessary, use Tooling (A) to remove the bearings from bracket assemblies (17).
