The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
The above listed machines equipped with 438-9513 Hydraulic Control Wiring Gp have had the 438-9514 Transmission Harness As fail in the drive shaft area. The failures are due to the ingress of external debris into area damaging the harness and motor solenoids. Symptoms seen are pulled connectors and harnesses wrapped around the drive shaft . The harness failure results in the machine being rendered inoperable
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this issue, if failure occurs replace with existing harness.
Note: A new guarding option is under development.
