Power Train Guard (Transmission) - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

1U-7505  Hydraulic Jack 
- Steel Plate approximately 914 mm (3.0 ft) by 914 mm (3.0 ft) by 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) (1) 
(1) Tack weld the steel plate to the top plate of the hydraulic jack.

Start By:

  1. Connect the steering frame lock.

  2. Release the hydraulic system pressure.

  1. Remove panel (1).

  2. Disconnect hose assembly (2).

  3. Remove the cotter pin and pin (3).

  4. Disconnect hose assembly (5).

  5. Cut cable strap (7).

  6. Remove the cotter pin, pin (4), and guard cylinder (6).

    Note: Power train guard (10) may contain a significant amount of rock, dirt, liquids, and debris, which will result in significant additional weight.

  7. Position Tooling (A) and suitable cribbing under power train guard (10). Raise Tooling (A) until Tooling (A) and the suitable cribbing contacts power train guard (10). The weight of power train guard (10) is approximately 330 kg (728 lb).

  8. Remove three bolts (8) (not shown) and the washers. Remove bolts (9) and the washers. Repeat this step for the opposite side.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Do not lower the bottom guard while under the machine. Injury could occur if the bottom guard slips off of the jack while it is being lowered.


  9. Use Tooling (A) in order to carefully lower power train guard (10).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install power train guard (10) in the reverse order of removal.
