Brake accumulator oil pressure sensor (1) is located on the brake accumulator charging valve. The brake accumulator charging valve is located on the left side of the front frame, in the transmission compartment.
The pressure of the brake accumulator oil corresponds to the voltage signal of the sensor. The changes in the voltage represent changes in the brake accumulator oil pressure. The voltage signal is an input of the Power Train Electronic Control Module (Power Train ECM).
For the brake accumulator oil pressure sensor the maximum activation pressure, for alert indication is 9500 kPa (1380 psi). The deactivation pressure for the brake accumulator oil pressure sensor, alert indicator, is 8300 ± 350 kPa (1200 ± 50 psi)
When the engine is started, brake accumulator oil pressure increases. The Power Train/Chassis ECM receives a signal from oil pressure sensor (1). The Power Train/Chassis ECM then sends a signal to the Caterpillar Monitoring System over the CAT Data Link. The Caterpillar Monitoring System will then turn off the brake accumulator oil pressure alert indicator on the Caterpillar Monitoring System display.
If the brake accumulator oil pressure decreases, a signal is sent from oil pressure sensor (1) to the Power Train/Chassis ECM. The Power Train/Chassis ECM then sends a signal to the Caterpillar Monitoring System over the CAT Data Link. The Caterpillar Monitoring System will then turn on the brake accumulator oil pressure alert indicator on the Caterpillar Monitoring System display. The brake accumulator oil pressure alert indicator will warn the operator of low brake accumulator oil pressure.

Brake accumulator oil pressure sensor (1) is located on the brake accumulator charging valve. The brake accumulator charging valve is located on left side of the front frame, in the transmission compartment.
The pressure of the brake accumulator oil corresponds to the voltage signal of the sensor. The changes in the voltage represent changes in the brake accumulator oil pressure. The voltage signal is an input of the Power Train Electronic Control Module (Power Train ECM).
For the brake accumulator oil pressure sensor the maximum activation pressure, for brake activation is 8270 kPa (1200 psi). The deactivation pressure for the brake accumulator oil pressure sensor, brake application, is 6890 ± 350 kPa (1000 ± 50 psi)
When the engine is started, brake accumulator oil pressure increases. The Power Train/Chassis ECM receives this signal and will allow the parking brake to be disengaged.
If machine operation is continued and the brake accumulator hydraulic oil pressure further decreases, the Power Train/Chassis ECM will engage the parking brake.
The parking brake will remain engaged until the brake accumulator oil pressure increases. The operator must then cycle the parking brake switch from the ON position to the OFF position in order to disengage the parking brake.
