NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Install the O-ring seal on the auxiliary water pump. Place clean engine oil on the O-ring seal.

  2. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to auxiliary water pump (14). The weight of auxiliary water pump (14) is approximately 31 kg (68 lb). Align auxiliary water pump (14) in the front housing.

  3. Install bolts (13) in auxiliary water pump (14).

  4. Ensure that the oil hole in the bearing is aligned with the oil passage in adapter (11). Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to install the bearing in adapter (11). The bearing must be 1.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.06 ± 0.02 inch) below the surface of the adapter. The bearing should have a diameter of 75.000 ± 0.055 mm (2.9527 ± 0.0022 inch) after installation.

  5. Install O-ring seal (12) on adapter (11). Place clean engine oil on the O-ring seal.

  6. Install adapter (11) and bolts (10) in the front housing.

  7. Install the O-ring seal in cover (6) and place clean engine oil on the O-ring seal. Install cover (6) and bolts (5).

  8. Connect hose assembly (7).

  9. Position adapter (9) and install bolts (8). Install the bolts and nuts (4).

  10. Position elbow (1) on the tube assembly and install bolts (3).

  11. Install retainers (2).

  12. Fill the cooling system to the correct level with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
