Exhaust Manifold - Remove

Usage:

G3520B GLF

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the exhaust elbow. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install".

  2. Remove the turbochargers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove".

  3. Remove the exhaust bypass valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Bypass Valve - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove O-ring seal (8) from housing (7).

  2. Remove clamps (6) and couplings (5). Remove housing (7).

  3. Remove bellows assemblies (4).

    Note: Ensure that any bellows assemblies are not damaged with any tools.

  4. Remove bolts (2) and remove manifolds (1) and (3). Remove the O-ring seals.

  5. Use the following steps if only one of the sections of the exhaust manifold must be removed.

    1. Remove the bolts in order to remove manifolds (9) from bellows assemblies (10).

    2. Remove bolts (11) and spacer (12) from each exhaust manifold (9).

    3. Remove O-ring seal (13) from exhaust manifold (9). Remove O-ring seal (14) that is installed between exhaust manifold (9) and the cylinder head.

    4. Repeat these steps for each section of the exhaust manifold that must be removed.
