Main Control Valve - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the main control valve.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  1. Remove piston (2) and O-ring seal (3) from housing (4). Remove bolts (6) evenly. Remove housing (5). Remove housing (4) and the O-ring seal from main control valve (1).

  2. Remove O-ring seal (7), retainer (8), springs (9), shims (10), shims (11), and retainer (12) from housing (5).

  3. Remove stem (15) from main control valve (1).

  4. Remove plug (17), O-ring seal (16), spacer (14), and valve assembly (13) from main control valve (1).

  5. Remove O-ring seals (20) and (21) from valve assembly (13). Remove backup rings (18) and backup rings (19) from valve assembly (13).

  6. Remove bolts (26) evenly. Remove cover (25), spring (24), retainer (23), and valve stem (22) from main control valve (1).

  7. Remove bolts (28) evenly. Remove housing (27) from main control valve (1).

  8. Remove O-ring seal (34), retainer (33), springs (32), shims (31), shims (30), and retainer (29) from housing (27).

  9. Remove bolts (39) evenly. Remove cover (35), O-ring seal (40), shims (36), spacers (41), spring (37), shims (42), and poppet valve (38).

  10. Remove nut (43). Remove plug (45), nut (44), and adjusting screw (46) as one unit from cover (35).

  11. Remove spring pin (48) from adjusting screw (46). Remove nut (44) from adjusting screw (46). Remove adjusting screw (46) from plug (45).

  12. Remove O-ring seal (47) from plug (45). Remove O-ring seal (49) from adjusting screw (46).

  13. Remove seat (50), O-ring seal (51), spring (52), and spool (53) from main control valve (1).

  14. Remove plug (57). Remove O-ring seal (56), spring (55), and valve (54).

  15. Remove bolts (58) evenly. Remove housing (59), O-ring seal (60), shims (61), spacers (62), spring (63), shims (65), and poppet valve (66) from main control valve (1).

  16. Remove seat (67), spring (68), and dump valve (69) from main control valve (1).

  17. Remove O-ring seal (64) from seat (67).

  18. Remove nut (70). Remove plug (72), nut (71), and adjusting screw (75) as one unit from housing (59).

  19. Remove spring pin (73) from adjusting screw (75). Remove nut (71) from adjusting screw (75). Remove adjusting screw (75) from plug (72).

  20. Remove O-ring seal (74) from plug (72). Remove O-ring seal (76) from adjusting screw (75).

  21. Remove bolts (77) evenly. Remove cover (78), O-ring seal (79), spring (80), and retainer (81).

  22. Remove plug (85). Remove O-ring seal (84), spring (83), and valve (82).

  23. Remove plug (86) from main control valve (1). Remove O-ring seal (87), spring (88), and valve (89) from main control valve (1).

  24. Remove plug (90) from main control valve (1). Remove O-ring seal (91), spring (92), and valve (93) from main control valve (1).
