Electronic Control Modules

Machine ECM

Illustration 1g02579378

Location of machine ECM

The electronic control module (ECM) is located under the floorboard in the cab, directly in front of the operator seat. The ECM receives input from sensors, controls, and the CAN A system. The ECM uses this input in order to control the operation of the outputs of the ECM, including the implement control valves and the steering hydraulic control. These outputs control solenoid valves, which receive signals of variable proportion from the ECM in order to control the operation of the machine. The inputs and outputs of the ECM are joined to the machine harness by two connectors. Each of the two connectors has 70 contacts.

ECM 2

Location of ECM 2

The second electronic control module (ECM) is located under the right side access panel near the rear of the machine. ECM 2 communicates with the machine ECM through CAN A and is used to control some of the implement inputs and outputs. ECM 2 only has one connector with 70 contacts.

Operator Controls

Differential Steering Control

Location of steering control handle

The steering handle is located to the left of the operator seat. The steering handle is used to control the hydraulic steering system. The steering handle contains two sensors that send a PWM signal to the machine ECM.

Implement Control Lever

Illustration 4g02601441

The implement control handle is located to the right of the operator seat, in an equivalent place to the steering handle. The implement handle sends two PWM signals to the machine ECM. One PWM signal is for the x-axis of the handle and is signaling blade tilt. The other PWM signal is for the y-axis of the handle and is signaling blade lift. The thumbroller on the handle controls blade pitch by sending a PWM signal to the machine ECM. The trigger on the handle controls blade shake. The two buttons on the handle control the Accugrade system (if installed).

Winch Switch

Winch Control Location

The winch switch is located on the right side of the operator seat.

Ripper Control Lever

Illustration 6g02598236

Location of ripper lever

The ripper lever is located on the right side of the operator chair.

Implement Shutoff Switch

Location of the implement shutoff switch

The Implement shutoff switch is located on the left side of the operator chair.

Hydraulic System Sensors

Steering Speed Sensor

Location of the Hydraulic Tank Temperature Sensor

The hydraulic tank temperature sensor is located on the right-hand side of the hydraulic tank.

Hydraulic System Solenoids
