(1) Hall Current Transformer

(2) DC Bus Disconnect Switch

The Hall Current Transformer (HCT) is located at the back of the cabinet under the DC Bus Disconnect Switch. The HCT measures the DC (+) bus current and is connected to the Hall CT Interface Board "HCI-J2" which is located on the upper left panel. The Hall CT Interface Board reports the current to the APC.

The HCT is a part of the DC Bus precharge circuit.

Removal Procedure

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR7654, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

Note: If rear access to the Flywheel Cabinet is available, the HCT should be removed from the rear. If rear access is not available, the HCT must be removed from the front of the cabinet.

  1. Remove the four wire connector from the right side of the HCT.

  1. Remove the two bolts that hold the HCT to the rear panel.

  1. Disconnect the two cables that run through the HCT from the positive output of the DC Bus Disconnect Switch.

Installation Procedure

  1. Run the cables that connect to the positive output terminal of the DC Bus Disconnect Switch (DCSW) through the HCT from the right side. The arrow on the HCT should point to the left.

  1. Connect the DCSW cables to the positive output of the DCSW.

  1. Connect the HCT to the rear panel.

  1. Connect the four wire connector to the right side of the HCT.
