(1) Transformer "T1"

Transformer "T1" (1) is a multitap transformer that provides AC power to the Power Distribution Board and the Flywheel DC bus precharge circuit. Transformer "T1" (1) is supplied from the protected output of the UPS.

The thermistor for "T1" is located on the top side of the transformer. The thermistor is connected to the "H1" connector of the transformer. Refer to Illustration 1 for the location of the thermistor.

Table 1
Specifications for the Thermistor
    Size     Ohm
T1     35mm     10

Table 2
Specifications for the Transformer
Input (V)     Output (V)     Wire Gauge (AWG)
T1     380, 400, 415, 440, 480     190, 230, 530     10-22

The transformer is installed on the lower left panel of the cabinet. Refer to Illustration 1 for the location of the transformer.

Removal Procedure for the Thermistor

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR7654, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

  1. Remove the two screws that attach the thermistor to the terminal block.

  1. Remove the thermistor from the terminal block.

Note: One screw is attached to the "H1" terminal connector and one screw is attached to the "COM" or the terminal connector that is not labeled.

Installation Procedure for the Thermistor

  1. Place one lead of the thermistor into the "H1" connector. Place one lead into the "COM". Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Tighten the two screws in order to attach the thermistor firmly.
