Turbocharger - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the right side engine guard.


NOTICE

Failure to follow established procedures can lead to damage of the parts.

To avoid damage to the parts, always identify and mark the parts so that the parts can be installed in the same location.


Note: Ensure that all main surfaces are clean and free of debris.

Note: Refer to Special Instruction, REHS1728, "Application Guideline for the Bellows" for additional information on handling the bellows if the machine is equipped.

  1. Remove clamps (1) , (3) , and (4) . Remove elbow (2) .

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (5) .

  1. Disconnect tube assembly (6) .

  1. Remove bolts (7) . Reposition tube assembly (8) .

  1. Disconnect tube assemblies (9) and reposition out of the way.

  1. Remove clamps (10) and (11) . Discard clamp (11) .

  1. Remove nuts (12) .

  1. Use a suitable lifting device in order to remove turbocharger (13) . The weight of turbocharger (13) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).

Installation Procedure

  1. Ensure the flange connection for the turbocharger to air filter intake is clean and free of debris. Proper alignment and use of a new clamp is necessary to ensure a leak free joint".

    Note: Check all of the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

  1. Install turbocharger (13) in reverse order of the removal.
