Introduction
This publication contains the information for the correct procedure in order to assemble a fuel hose assembly using one-wire braid hose (716) with stainless steel armour.
This supplemental product support literature should be used with the appropriate Service Manual and the appropriate Parts Manual that is available for a standard machine.
Refer to the Tool Operating Manual of the machine being used for the tooling needed in the assembly process.

Procedure to Assemble One-Wire Braid Hose (716) with Stainless Steel Armour
- Cut the new hose to the correct length.
- The inside of the hose must be cleaned after cutting to the correct length. Refer to Special Instruction, SEBF8485, "Cleaning Fluid-Carrying Hose and Tube Assemblies in Shop and Field Applications" for the complete cleaning instructions.
- Reclaim the old couplings if needed for the new hose assembly.
- Install stainless steel armor (1) over the full length of the hose with approximately 30 mm (1.18 inch) excess at each end.

- Twist stainless steel armor (1) and pull tight along the length of the hose. Twist stainless steel armor at the other end.
- Apply a strip of 50 mm (1.96 inch) masking tape (2) to the stainless steel armor at both ends.

- Install any additional armor guarding if necessary.
- Set the angle of orientation of the new couplings.
- Crimp the second coupling onto the hose.
- Deburr the couplings if necessary.
- Clean the final assembly.
- Recheck the assembly for the correct angle of orientation and overall assembly length.
- Install caps or plugs on the couplings.
