The attachment code is a code that is entered into the message display. The attachment code is stored on the VIDS/VIMS main module. The attachment code is an input of the VIDS/VIMS main module. The attachment code is used to identify equipment that is attached to a machine. The attachment code tells the Implement ECM, the Power Train ECM, and the Engine ECM the physical limits of the machine. If the attachment code does not match the actual attachments on the machine, a service code may be generated.
This code is recorded after the Implement ECM has detected that a new attachment code has been loaded into the "VIDS/VIMS main" module. This code occurs after the power to the Implement ECM has been turned on.
Test Step 1. CLEAR THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE.
After a new attachment code has been entered into the "VIDS/VIMS main" module, the power for the machine must be cycled.
