NOTICE

Contamination to a closed loop hydraulic system can cause serious damage to the hydraulic motor and to the hydraulic pump.

In order to prevent damage to the hydraulic motor and to the hydraulic pump, perform the flushing procedure whenever any hydraulic oil line or any hydraulic connections have been opened.

For the flushing procedure, refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Auger Hydraulic System - Flush".

Charge pump (15) is driven by piston pump (12) for the auger.

Illustration 4g01313871

(17) Charge relief valve

(16) Charge pump filter

Hydraulic oil from charge pump (15) flows to charge pump filter (16). Charge pump filter (16) is equipped with a bypass valve. When the differential pressure across the charge pump filter reaches the bypass relief pressure, oil flow is diverted around charge pump filter (16). Then, the hydraulic oil flows to charge relief valve (17). The hydraulic oil also flows to the control valve for piston pump (12) for the auger.

Illustration 5g01277369

(19) Auger control

When the auger is turned ON, the transmission ECM sends a signal to pump control valve (14). Pump control valve (14) then sends oil to servo piston (13). Servo piston (13) then controls the amount of output for piston pump (12).

Illustration 6g01313875

(3) Piston motor (auger)

(20) Auger drive

Piston pump (14) sends oil to flushing valve (1). Oil passes through flushing valve (1) to piston motor (3) for the auger. Piston motor (3) for the auger is bolted to auger drive (20). Return oil from piston motor (3) flows back to the inlet of piston pump (14) in a continuous closed loop.

Illustration 7g01313877

(8) Case drain filter for the motor

Case drain oil from piston motor (3) flows through manifold (4). Oil from manifold (4) then flows to case drain filter (8) for the motor. Then, the hydraulic oil returns to the hydraulic oil tank. If case drain filter (8) for the motor becomes plugged, a bypass valve will open. The bypass valve is inside of the filter base. The opening of this bypass valve causes hydraulic oil to bypass case drain filter (8) for the motor.

Reversing the Auger

NOTICE

Reversing the auger can cause serious damage to the support bridge. In order to prevent damage to the support bridge do not reverse the auger more than 178 ± 25 mm (7 ± 1 inch) of rotation measured at the outside diameter of the auger.

Illustration 8g01313878

(21) Reverse switch

The rotation of the auger can be reversed. If the auger is jammed, the operator can jog the auger. Move reverse switch (21) to the REVERSE position in order to jog the auger.

When auger reverse switch (21) is moved to the REVERSE position, the swashplate moves the opposite direction. The high pressure side and the low pressure side of the loop exchange flow through the opposite crossover relief valves. Although the flushing valve in the piston motor (auger) shifts in the opposite direction, oil in the low pressure side of the loop continues to bleed off through the motor case drain.
