New Water Cooled Exhaust Manifold Elbows And Rear Manifold Are Used{1059}

Usage:

3208 Marine ( 1Z ) and Industrial ( 3Z ) Engines

Reference: Service Magazine, October 1, 1984, "New Gaskets Give A Better Seal To Watercooled Exhaust Manifold"; Service Magazine, October 22, 1984, "Changes To Water Lines Group Increase Coolant Flow Through Exhaust Manifold". These two articles tell about changes to the water cooled exhaust manifolds used on the above engines. This article gives additional information about changes to the exhaust manifold.

Description of Change: A new watercooled rear exhaust manifold and elbows are used on the above engines. The new rear manifold and elbows have thicker flanges for better alignment with mating parts, and improved bolt torque retention. The new rear elbows have internal passages for better coolant flow and eliminate the need for (joint) jumper hoses and fittings used on the former elbows.

The new elbows and rear manifold allow easier installation and better access for maintenance.

Adaptable To: The new rear manifold, elbows and bolts are direct replacements for the former rear manifold, elbows and bolts as shown in the chart.

NOTE: When new elbows are used, install appropriate plugs (supplied when former elbows are ordered).
