NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove hose assemblies (1), (3), (5), and (7).

  2. Remove tube assembly (2).

  3. Remove level sensor (6).

  4. Remove bolts (4), the washers, and the nuts.

  5. Remove hose assemblies (8) and (9).

  6. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to heat exchanger (12). The weight of heat exchanger (12) is approximately 89 kg (196 lb).

  7. Remove bolts (10) and washers (11) from the base of heat exchanger (12).

  8. Remove heat exchanger (12) from the engine.
