New Parking Brake Switch Improves Switch Service Life {1435, 4284}

Usage:

AD55 ANW
Underground Articulated Truck:
AD55 (S/N: ANW)

Description of Change: The new parking brake switch provides improved service life with sealed contacts to prevent corrosion. The new parking brake switch is now available as an option when a push-to-engage application is required. The pull-to-engage application will remain as standard.

Adaptable To: The pull-to-engage 1DE3425 Parking Brake Switch Gp replaces the former pull-to-engage 6DE8934 Parking Brake Switch Gp. The new pull-to-engage 1DE3425 Parking Brake Switch Gp and the new push-to-engage 1DE3269 Parking Brake Switch Gp are effective with AD55 (S/N: ANW366-UP). The 1DE3425 Parking Brake Switch Gp and the 1DE3269 Parking Brake Switch Gp are adaptable to AD55 (S/N: ANW1-365).

Removal Procedure for the Former Parking Brake Switch

  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

    (1) Instrument panel

    (2) Knob

    (3) Retaining nut

  1. Remove knob (2). Discard knob (2) .

  1. Remove retaining nut (3). Discard retaining nut (3) .

  1. Remove instrument panel (1) .

    (5) Parking brake switch body

    (6) Harness assembly

    (7) Plug

    (8) Receptacle

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (6) at plug (7) and receptacle (8) .

  1. Remove the following parts: contact block (4), parking brake switch body (5) and harness assembly (6). Discard the following parts: contact block (4), parking brake switch body (5) and harness assembly (6) .

    (5) Ground cable

    (A) Ground

    Note: For pull-to-engage parking brake application install a 9EQ2055 Harness As. For push-to-engage parking brake application install a 9EQ2054 Harness As .

  1. Install harness assembly (4) between 1DE3268 Switch As (2) and receptacle (3) .

  1. Attach ground cable (5) to the ground bolt at location (A) .
